New Mexico Art League:
My three watercolors are now framed and ready for the New Mexico Art Leagues Exhibition.

...

Sherri Brueggmann:
I stopped by city hall yesterday to say good bye to Sherri Brueggmann who is retiring after
leading Albuquerque/s arts efforts for many years. My term as a art board member is over, but I
wanted to see the celebration for Sherri. Of course Mayor Keller was there to praise Sherri.
Albuquerque may be the only city to have a mayor with an art history degree.
In Sherri’s on words, “I am retiring from the City of Albuquerque. I am honored and privileged to
have worked for so long in this city I have called home all of my life - even though I grew up just
one county over. I have had the incredible pleasures of working with civic leaders,
neighborhoods, design professionals, local government employees, interns and contractors, arts
organizations, and most importantly creative and resilient artists from near and far.”
Personally, I am proud to live in a community filled with beautiful art.

...

Melanie Stansbury:
Albuquerque should be proud of our congresswomen Melanie Stansbury who took to social media Monday to bring attention to a looming crisis as President Donald Trump and his Department of Government Efficiency recently imposed a sweeping overhaul of the Social Security Administration system.Stansbury posted a video on social media late Monday after she visited the downtown Albuquerque Social Security office to investigate the situation and ensure New Mexicans retain their benefits. However, she reported being denied access to the administrative side of the building.“We were just denied entry into this office. We had an appointment and we notified them in advance,” Stansbury said. Stansbury did talk with some New Mexicans who were in the office Monday waiting to get their claims filled, including a brother and sister who have made several trips to the office without having their claims resolved, a woman without internet access and a young person needing to correct their date of birth for tax purposes. She described the office environment as having “a lot of closed windows and a lot of people who were tired, exasperated and been here a very long time.”

Desert Broom:
It must be spring if our desert broom is blooming

...

Watercolors:
My three watercolors framed and ready to deliver to the NMWS Spring Exhibition. The larger one shows two ladies in Kyoto Japan from our last cruise. The small portrait on the right is of Oscar Butler a local folk singer. On the left are shadows on the pavement in Barcelona, Spain.

...

Tiny Begonias:
This year we found tiny begonias for our pots in the back yard.

...

Fern:
I knew that if I searched my computer enough that I'd find Fern Lacoy Kelly - a good friend we found on a cruise in 2917, in 2017 Fern had moved from Albuquerque ti Florida. It's easier to find cruises from Florida. It's the people you meet on a cruise that are important.

...

Friends We Have Met:
It's not the many places you visit on a cruise that is important - more important are the wonderful new friends you make along the way.

...

Around The World:
My bride and I love to travel - here are a few pics from past cruises.

I want to thank Roy Vanderaa for putting my watercolor on the cover of this months INK

Permanent Collection:
Last week - we took some new NMWS members on a tour of the NMWS Permanent Collection of watercolors at Housing NM. With help from Jim Terry, Debbie Misgen and Barbara McGuire James Terry. NMWS has well over 100 paintings we have collected over many years. Our collection is both a valuable asset and a pride of our society. Many Thanks to Hosing NM for a safe and attractive location for our collection.

...

Spring Time:
It's a beautiful day in Albuquerque this morning. I love this tree in our backyard.

...

Now In Color:
The daily comics are in color now in the Albuquerque Journal.
